Beaches near Palma

There is nothing more characteristic of Palma de Mallorca than its beaches. Organising your holidays in Mallorca means thinking about resting and relaxing on the paradisiacal beaches of this marvellous island. That is why, in this post, we are going to recommend some of the beaches near Palma and the most beautiful ones in the Bay of Palma area. 

There are several types of beaches in Mallorca. On the north coast, behind the Serra de Tramuntana mountain range, there are rocky coves hidden between cliffs. In the area of Santanyí we find coves and beaches that combine smooth rocks with white sand. While in the Bay of Palma we can find the long and beautiful beaches of fine white sand and crystalline waters. 

Furthermore, of all the beaches near Palma, we have chosen and will recommend those that are close to our magnificen Purobeach Palma and Purobeach Illetas. Because our beach clubs are located one on each side of the Bay of Palma. So, after a day enjoying the beaches near Palma, you can relax in our facilities. Illetas

Illetas is a magnificent beach located just 20 minutes from the centre of Palma. It can be reached by car as there is a parking area. It can also be reached by bus number 3, which leaves from various points in the centre of Palma. It is located between two other well-known beaches in Mallorca: Portals Nous and Cala Mayor, which we also recommend you visit during your holidays in Mallorca. 

In addition, if you decide to take a walk along the rocky paths that surround Illetas, you will come to two other small, beautiful, little-known beaches: Cala Xinxell and Cala Comtessa. Smaller but just as beautiful as Illetas. 

Illetas is a beautiful beach of white sand and crystalline waters surrounded by rocks and stones. On entering the beach you will find different stalls where you will find the souvenir you were looking for, a new bikini to go into the sea with or whatever you have forgotten to spend your day at the beach. Illetas is a beach with a young and fun atmosphere. This is because just a few metres away, on the rocks, we can find the fabulous Purobeach Illetas.

Purobeach Illetas is the beach club of choice for many visitors to Illetas beach. With magnificent views and a direct descent to the sea you can enjoy music, a fun atmosphere and the best cocktails while you relax in our hammocks, Balinese beds and with our Puro Spa treatments.

Can Pastilla Beach

Can Pastilla beach is a very quiet place located just 15 minutes from Palma. Surrounded by a beautiful promenade, Can Pastilla beach has 6 kilometres of fine sand where you can rest and relax during your holidays in Majorca. Due to its length, you will always have space and space guaranteed. 

It is a very quiet beach, even though it is surrounded by a lot of leisure activities. On Can Pastilla beach, you can also do different water sports. On the beach itself, and nearby, you can rent paddle surfing, kitesurfing, windsurfing or even jet-skiing equipment to enjoy your day at the beach. 

Very close to Can Pastilla Beach, just a few metres walk away you will find Purobeach Palma, without a doubt the perfect place to watch the sunset while you relax on our sun loungers and Balinese beds. 

Cala Gamba Beach

Cala Gamba is a very quiet coastal area in the Bay of Palma. Just 7 kilometres from Palma we can find this sandy beach. As it is only 100 metres long, it is a very familiar beach and is usually frequented by local people. 

Cala Gamba beach is an urban beach made up of rocks, sand and calm waters. However, it is the ideal place if you are looking for a beach to go with your dog, as it is one of the few beaches in Mallorca where animals are allowed all year round. But obviously as long as you take responsibility and control your pet during the whole time you are on the beach. 

At the end of Cala Gamba beach, and the promenade of Cala Gamba, you will find Purobeach Palma. This is the closest place to have a drink or a meal in the surroundings of Cala Gamba beach and without a doubt the best place to do it!
