Purobeach, official beach club of the Copa del Rey Mapfre

The 41st edition of the Mapfre King’s Cup took place from 29 July to 5 August in the Bay of Palma de Mallorca and brought together 74 boats from six classes on the race course. It has been organised by the Real Club Náutico de Palma (RCNP) and by delegation of the Real Federación Española de Vela (RFEV), with the sponsorship of MAPFRE and the institutional sponsorship of the Govern de les Illes Balears (Balearic Islands government), the City Council of Palma and the collaboration of the Balearic Islands Port Authorities and the Balearic Islands Sailing Federation.

It is the most important sailing regatta in the Mediterranean and one of the best known regattas in the world with a great international media impact, which makes it the perfect setting for celebrities and influencers from all over the world: Sara Guchi, Ivanna Icardi and Ali Guijarro were the first to taste the VIP brunch that was offered by the Purobeach team every morning, at the El Náutico restaurant before going out to watch the regattas live.

"This is my second year at the MAPFRE King’s Cup," said Icardi, who collaborated with Purobeach last season as a brand ambassador through her social media. "Last year I was fascinated by the event and I wanted to repeat, to learn a little more about the regatta.

They were not the only well-known faces who enjoyed our brunch.  Joaquín Cortés, dancer, Fiona Ferrer, entrepreneur and writer, and Maribel Nadal, sister of the tennis player and marketing director of the Rafa Nadal Academy, also savoured the #puroexperience during the regatta.

Fiona Ferrer, one of the most know faces among the guests who repeat every year at the MAPFRE King’s Cup, said "I've been coming here for twelve years now and for me it's like home. This is one of the most important competitions in the world and I would love for everyone to see the atmosphere here, the sportsmanship and the organisation behind it.”

But without a doubt, the most awaited figure was Don Felipe, King of Spain, who participated during the regatta aboard the Spanish Navy's Aifos and obtained, for the first time, a podium position as runner-up in the Majorica ORC 1 class, a historic first podium for Don Felipe as skipper in the MAPFRE King’s Cup.
