The best viewpoints in Mallorca

In Mallorca there are many viewpoints from which you can enjoy astonishing views. The iconic Formentor lighthouse, located in Pollensa, and Sa Foradada, on the north coast of the island, could be the best known and most famous. Viewpoints near Purobeach Palma

After spending a wonderful and calm day at Purobeach Palma you can find at a very short distance the best viewpoints in Mallorca where you can enjoy a magnificent sunset, or simply the spectacular views.

Bellver Castle

The renowned Bellver Castle, built in the 14th century and characterized by its round structure, was so named because in old Catalan bell veer means “beautiful view”.

From this spot of the island of Mallorca, you can appreciate the views of the entire bay of Palma, the city, the harbour of Palma and even the Sierra de Tramuntana and the plains of Mallorca.

It is a viewpoint surrounded by vegetation, where you can walk quietly while observing the most iconic places in Palma. In turn, it has some benches to rest and be able to observe and enjoy the views.

You can also enter the castle and learn more about the history of Mallorca, the construction of that place and the different settlements that have passed through the Island.

Sierra de na Burguesa

This location so close to Palma has a distinguished monument, a 22-meter-high statue dedicated to Our Lady of Peace, which can be seen from many points in Palma due to its height.

From this viewpoint you will see the entire municipality of Palma and, on the clearest days, you can even make out the island of Cabrera, located behind Cabo Blanco, at the other end of the bay.

It has a table and a bench to sit, enjoy and observe all the points of interest that the viewpoint show us. In turn, there are various excursions in Mallorca to visit the different marble caves around the Sierra de na Burguesa, typical of the area.

Cabo Blanco Lighthouse

The wonderful views that are seen from this viewpoint do not allow you to differentiate between the sea and the sky, becoming all in one.

A short walk on the left of Cabo Blanco lighthouse will bring you to a watchtower, which dates back to 1584 and was used to protect the island from pirates, Turkish corsairs and enemy troops. This watchtower has open access and you can enter and climb to see what they are like inside. It has stairs that will allow you to climb and appreciate spectacular views of Mallorca.

You can also walk around looking for different nooks to enjoy and find the ideal place to watch the sunset on the right side of the Cabo Blanco lighthouse.

In the firmament, apart from the sun, the sea and the sky, you can see the Cabrera archipelago and all the islands that compose it.

Viewpoints near Purobeach Illetas

Purobeach Illetas is in a very rich area in terms of beaches and viewpoints. That’s why these viewpoints of Mallorca are the perfect places to end a day after enjoying all our facilities at Purobeach Illetas.

El Toro viewpoint

El Toro viewpoint is located in a former military base and has a small archipelago that is a protected nature reserve due to the diversity of marine animals it has. The views include this archipelago, a small beach, and a magnificent sunset.

The viewpoint is located in some old defense bunkers, built during the Second World War, when the Balearic Islands were a strategic place in the Mediterranean.

You can also take a short excursion to end the day with the last splash in crystal clear waters.

To appreciate the views you just have to follow Avinguda de la Mar to number 142.

Ermita de Portals Nous

Located in Calviá, this small chapel, has a nice viewpoint just above the well-known “Soratori” beach. It is located in a very quiet area, perfect to go for a walk at any time of the day.

From this viewpoint in Mallorca you can observe the bay of portals, with its renowned harbour and the island d'en Sales, a small island with great value due to the archaeological encounter of Punic ceramics of the years 2 and 3 BC.

You can sit down to chat and relax while enjoying the views. The exact place where you will find this viewpoint is Calle Oratorio number : the ideal place to enjoy wonderful views.

Illes Malgrats

The Malgrats viewpoint, also called the canyon viewpoint, is perfect if you are looking for an easy access panoramic view. This viewpoint is located in the urban area of ??Santa Ponsa and shows you the Malgrats Islands archipelago:a group of islands located in the southwest of Mallorca, which, like El Toro, are protected as a nature reserve because they contain a wide ecological diversity.

The sunset from this point of Mallorca is a true wonder. You can easily get there by car and leave it on Gran Via Eivissa street number 27, from there go downstairs and find the viewpoint.
